Hugh Mercer QC to chair CCBE liaison committeeThe Council of the Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) has appointed Hugh Mercer QC to be Chairman of the liaison committee between all EU Bars and lawyers and the European Court of Justice. The Committee’s full name is the CCBE Permanent Delegation to the Court of Justice and the General Court of the European Union and to the EFTA Court. The CCBE represents around 1 million European lawyers through its member bars and law societies. See the CCBE website for further information.

Sir Frank Berman QC appointed to Permament Court of Arbitration
The British Government has appointed Sir Frank Berman QC to be a Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (‘the PCA’) in The Hague. Founded under the Hague Conventions of 1899 and 1907, the PCA is the oldest standing institution in the field of international dispute settlement (www.pca-cpa.org).
