History
Essex Court Chambers, called Four Essex Court until its relocation to Lincoln's Inn Fields in 1994, was formed as a separate chambers in 1961. The founding members of Four Essex Court were Michael Kerr (later Lord Justice Kerr), Robert MacCrindle, Michael Mustill (later Lord Mustill), Anthony Evans (later Lord Justice Evans), and Anthony Diamond (later Judge Diamond) all of whom at some time headed Chambers. The set grew rapidly in the late 1960's and 1970's during which time Mark Saville (later Lord Saville), Johan Steyn (later Lord Steyn), Anthony Colman (later Mr Justice Colman) and John Thomas (later Lord Justice Thomas) joined. Chambers has continued to grow and in 1994 moved from the Temple to larger premises at 24-26 Lincoln's Inn Fields refurbished to the highest standards with modern facilities - including an arbitration room and other spacious rooms for larger conferences.Search
